Team 3 held its place in Senior 1B for the Challenge Round and unfortunately Team 5 were relegated to Senior 2B from Senior 2A where they started the season.

Unfortunately Team 1 couldn’t hold its spot in Prem 3 and returned to Prem Reserve 1 after the Challenge Round. Team 2 came second in their Challenge Round grade and so remain in Prem Reserve 2 for the rest of the 2010 season. 2009 results

Team 1

Team 1 had a challenging year on the court. They started the season in Prem 3 but were relegated mid-season. They had a nail-biter finish to the season beating Wellington East’s Diehards team by one goal to finish top of Prem Res 1.

Team 2

Team 2 were promoted a grade before the season even started due to the withdrawal of a team in a higher grade, so they started in Prem Reserve 3. They held their place in Prem Reserve 3 during the season and managed to avoid relegation in the Challenge Round by winning the crucial last game and ended up eighth in Prem Reserve 3.

Team 3

The President’s team had a mixed season with grading day results putting them in Senior 1B. They were promoted to Senior 1A at the end of the first round but dropping back down to Senior 1B at the end of the second round. At the end of the season, they bowed out of Senior 1B in the semi-finals coming third overall in their grade.

Team 4

Team 4 had a good solid year – being placed in Senior 1D after grading day and being promoted to Senior 1C after the first round of the season. After the Challenge Round, they came 5th overall in Senior 1C.

Team 5

Team 5 also had a good solid year – being placed in Senior 2B after grading day and holding their place in this grade thoughout the season. In the final round, they won their quarter-finals, semi-finals but lost the finals to come 2nd overall.

2008 results

Team 1

Team 1 had a great year in 2008. They started the season with a new coach, Karin Bolton, and a large number of new players.

They were third in the Prem Reserve 1 grade after Round 1 so missed out on promotion (2 teams were promoted/relegated in 2008). At the end of Round 2 they were top of their grade and promoted to Prem 3. They won the quarter finals and semi finals of Prem 3 and then lost the finals by two goals in extra time to end up second in Prem 3.

Team 2

Team 2 had a challenging year. They were relegated from Prem Reserve 3 to Prem Reserve 4 at the end of round 1. Many games were lost by 1 or 2 goals making it a tough season emotionally. The team managed to avoid relegation at the end for round 2 by winning a couple of crucial games at the end of the round. They then won quarter finals. lost semi finals and ended up third in Prem Reserve 4.

Team 3

The President’s team had a good solid year – they missed out on promotion by one place in the grade (Senior 1A). At the end of the season, they came second in their grade.

Team 4

Team 4 also had a good solid year – held their own in the first round to stay in Senior 1B. After the second round, they were third in the grade. In the final round, they won quarter finals, semi finals but lost the finals to come second in their grade. A very good result, especially as they lost a shooter to pregnancy at the beginning of the season and a key mid-court player to injury mid-season.

Team 5

A variety of results for Team 5 during 2008. The team was promoted from Senior 1D to Senior 1C after the grading round and then held their place for the second round. End result was a creditable third in the grade.

Team 6

A variety of results also for Team 6 during 2008 but overall a good year. The team ended up coming third in their grade (Senior 2C). The team also won the Barbara Marchant Cup for best defensive senior team (only 141 goals against through the season).
